स रो॑चयज्ज॒नुषा॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे स मा॒त्रोर॑भवत्पु॒त्र ईड्यः॑ । ह॒व्य॒वाळ॒ग्निर॒जर॒श्चनो॑हितो दू॒ळभो॑ वि॒शामति॑थिर्वि॒भाव॑सुः ॥ (२)

अग्नि ने उत्पन्न होते ही धरती और आकाश को प्रकाशित किया एवं अपने माता-पिता के प्रशंसनीय पुत्र बने. हव्य वहन करने वाले, यजमान को अन्न देने वाले, अधृष्य एवं प्रभावयुक्त अग्नि इस प्रकार पूज्य हैं जैसे मनुष्य अतिथि की पूजा करते हैं. (२)
