कदि॒त्था नॄँः पात्रं॑ देवय॒तां श्रव॒द्गिरो॒ अङ्गि॑रसां तुर॒ण्यन् । प्र यदान॒ड्विश॒ आ ह॒र्म्यस्यो॒रु क्रं॑सते अध्व॒रे यज॑त्रः ॥ (१)

स्तोताओं के पालक एवं गोरूप धन के देने वाले इंद्र अपने भक्त अंगिरा की स्तुति कब सुनेंगे? वे जब गृहस्वामी यजमान के ऋत्विजों को सामने देखते हैं, तभी यज्ञपात्र बनकर यज्ञ में स्वयं आ जाते हैं. (१)
