प्र वः॒ पान्तं॑ रघुमन्य॒वोऽन्धो॑ य॒ज्ञं रु॒द्राय॑ मी॒ळ्हुषे॑ भरध्वम् । दि॒वो अ॑स्तो॒ष्यसु॑रस्य वी॒रैरि॑षु॒ध्येव॑ म॒रुतो॒ रोद॑स्योः ॥ (१)

हे क्रोधहीन ऋत्विजो! तुम कर्मो का फल देने वाले रुद्र को पालक एवं यज्ञसाधन अन्न अधिक मात्रा में दो. मैं स्वर्ग के देव रुद्र तथा उनके अनुचरों एवं आकाश और धरती के बीच निवास करने वाले मरुद्गण की स्तुति करता हूं. रुद्र अपने वीरों अर्थात्‌ मरुतों की सहायता से शत्रुओं को उसी प्रकार भगा देते हैं, जैसे तूणीर में रहने वाले बाणों द्वारा शत्रु को भगाया जाता है. O angry Ritvizo! Give more amount of spinach and yajnasadhan food to Rudra, who gives the fruits of karma. I praise rudra, the god of heaven, and his followers, and the deserts who dwell between the heavens and the earth. Rudra, with the help of his heroes, i.e., the Maruts, drives away the enemies in the same way as the enemy is driven away by the arrows that live in Tunir. (1)
