कृ॑णु॒त धू॒मं वृ॑षणः सखा॒योऽद्रो॑घाविता॒ वाच॒मच्छ॑ । अ॒यम॒ग्निः पृ॑तना॒षाट् सु॒वीरो॒ येन॑ दे॒वा अस॑हन्त॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (२)

हे कामना पूर्ण करने वाले एवं जगत्‌ के मित्र सप्त ऋषियो! तुम अरणि मंथन के द्वारा धुआं उत्पन्न करो. ये अग्नि देव स्तुति रूपी ऋचाएं सुन कर उत्तम चरित्र वाले यजमानों की शत्रुओं से रक्षा करते हैं. देवों सहित ये अग्नि देवशत्रु सेनाओं को पराजित करते हैं. अग्नि की सहायता से देवों ने राक्षसों को पराजित किया था. These agni gods listen to the verses of praise and protect the hosts with good character from enemies. These agnis, including the Devas, defeat the Devashatru armies. With the help of agni, the devas defeated the demons. (2)
