जाय॑माना॒भि जा॑यते दे॒वान्त्सब्रा॑ह्मणान्व॒शा । तस्मा॑द्ब्र॒ह्मभ्यो॒ देयै॒षा तदा॑हुः॒ स्वस्य॒ गोप॑नम् ॥ (१०)

वशा अर्थात्‌ तुरंत ब्यायी हुई गाय देवताओं और ब्राह्मणों के लिए ही प्रकट होती है. इसलिए ब्राह्मणों को उस का दान देना ही अपनी रक्षा करना है, ऐसा विद्वान्‌ लोग कहते हैं. (१०)
