वि॑षास॒हिंसह॑मानं सासहा॒नं सही॑यांसम् । सह॑मानं सहो॒जितं॑ स्व॒र्जितं॑ गो॒जितं॑संधना॒जित॑म् । ईड्यं॒ नाम॑ ह्व॒ इन्द्रं॑ प्रि॒यो दे॒वानां॑ भूयासम् ॥ (२)

सहमान अर्थात्‌ दूसरों को दबाने वाले तेज से युक्त, शत्रुओं के उस तेज को जीतने वाले, स्वर्ग के विजेता, शत्रुओं के गाय आदि पशुओं को जीतने वाले तथा जलों पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाले इंद्र रूप सूर्य को बुलाता हूं. उन इंद्र की कृपा से मैं संतान आदि का प्रिय बनूं. (२)

I call indra form surya, who has the radiance that suppresses others, the conqueror of the enemies, the conqueror of heaven, the conqueror of the animals of the enemies, the cow etc. and the conqueror of the waters. By the grace of that Indra, I should become the beloved of children etc. (2)
