सिंचित वीर्य को पुरुष आदि की आकृति में बदलने वाले त्वष्टा ने अपनी पुत्री सरण्यु का विवाह किया. उसे देखने के लिए पूरा विश्व एकत्र हुआ. यम की माता सरण्यु जब सूर्य से विवाह हुआ, तब सूर्य की अधिक प्रभाव वाली पत्नी उन के समीप से अदृश्य हो गई. (५३)
