उ॑द॒प्रुतो॒ न वयो॒ रक्ष॑माणा॒ वाव॑दतो अ॒भ्रिय॑स्येव॒ घोषाः॑ । गि॑रि॒भ्रजो॒ नोर्मयो॒ मद॑न्तो॒ बृह॒स्पति॑म॒भ्य॒र्का अ॑नावन् ॥ (१)

जिस प्रकार जलों में गमन करते हुए तथा व्याध आदि से अपनी रक्षा करते हुए पक्षी उच्च ध्वनि करते हैं, जिस प्रकार मेघ समूह गर्जन करता है तथा जिस प्रकार मेघों से बरसने वाला जल फसलों आदि को तृप्त करता है, उसी प्रकार स्तोता अपनी स्तुतियों से बृहस्पति देव की प्रशंसा करते हैं. (१)
