यस्त॒स्तम्भ॒ सह॑सा॒ वि ज्मो अन्ता॒न्बृह॒स्पति॑स्त्रिषध॒स्थो रवे॑ण । तं प्र॒त्नास॒ ऋष॑यो॒ दीध्या॑नाः पु॒रो विप्रा॑ दधिरे म॒न्द्रजि॑ह्वम् ॥ (१)

जिन बृहस्पति ने अपने घोष से पृथ्वी के छोर को भी स्तंभित किया, प्राचीन ऋषि उन का बारबार ध्यान करते हैं. वे बृहस्पति प्रसन्न करने वाली जिह्वा के स्वामी हैं. विद्वान्‌ ब्राह्मण बृहस्पति को प्रथम स्थान देते हैं. (१)
