आपो॒ अग्रे॒ विश्व॑माव॒न्गर्भं॒ दधा॑ना अ॒मृता॑ ऋत॒ज्ञाः । यासु॑ दे॒वीष्वधि॑ दे॒व आसी॒त्कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (६)

सृष्टि के आदि में जिन बलों ने सारे जगत्‌ की रक्षा की, अविनाशी और जगत्‌ के कारण हिरण्यगर्भ को जिन दिव्य जलों ने गर्भ के रूप में धारण किया, उन जलों को अपने मध्य धारण करने वाले प्रजापति की हम हवि के द्वारा पूजा करते हैं. (६)
