स॒प्त म॒र्यादाः॑ क॒वय॑स्ततक्षु॒स्तासा॒मिदेका॑म॒भ्यं॑हु॒रो गा॑त् । आ॒योर्ह॑ स्क॒म्भ उ॑प॒मस्य॑ नी॒डे प॒थां वि॑स॒र्गे ध॒रुणे॑षु तस्थौ ॥ (६)

मनु आदि ऋषियों ने चोरी, गुरुपत्नीगमन, ब्रह्महत्या, भ्रूणहत्या, मद्यपान, मिथ्याभाषण एवं पापकर्म — इन सात कमो के रूप में धार्मिक, मर्यादा निश्चित की है. जो इस मर्यादा को नहीं मानता, वह पापी है. इन सात मर्यादाओं का पालन करने वाला पुरुष मृत्यु के पश्चात सूर्य मंडल में स्थित आदित्य को प्राप्त करता है और प्रलय काल तक वहीं स्थित रहता है. Manu and other sages have defined dharmic limits in the form of seven acts - theft, adultery with the wife of a Guru, killing a brahmin, killing an embryo, drinking alcohol, lying and low acts. Whoever does not follow these limits is a immoral. A man who follows these seven limits attains Aditya located in the solar system after death and remains there till the pralay. (6)
