तिर॑श्चिराजेरसि॒तात्पृदा॑कोः॒ परि॒ संभृ॑तम् । तत्क॒ङ्कप॑र्वणो वि॒षमि॒यं वी॒रुद॑नीनशत् ॥ (१)

तिरश्चिराजी अर्थात्‌ तिरछी रेखाओं वाले काले और पृदाकू अर्थात्‌ अपने द्वारा काटे हुए प्राणियों को रुलाने वाले सर्पो के विष को तथा कंकपर्व नामक काटने वाले विषैले जंतु के विष को यह मधु नाम की जड़ीबूटी नष्ट करे. (१)
