म॒हीमू॒ षु मा॒तरं॑ सुव्र॒ताना॑मृ॒तस्य॒ पत्नी॒मव॑से हवामहे । तु॑विक्ष॒त्राम॒जर॑न्तीमुरू॒चीं सु॒शर्मा॑ण॒मदि॑तिं सु॒प्रणी॑तिम् ॥ (२)

महती एवं शोभन कर्मो वाली माता को सत्य और यज्ञ का पालन करने वाली माता के उद्देश्य से हम अपनी रक्षा के लिए यज्ञ करते हैं. अधिक बल एवं शक्ति संपन्न, विनाश रहित, अति दूर तक जाने वाली, शोभन सुख वाली एवं उत्तम कमो से प्रसन्न होने वाली देव माता अदिति को हम अपनी रक्षा के लिए बुलाते हैं. (२)
