रुश॑द्वत्सा॒ रुश॑ती श्वे॒त्यागा॒दारै॑गु कृ॒ष्णा सद॑नान्यस्याः । स॒मा॒नब॑न्धू अ॒मृते॑ अनू॒ची द्यावा॒ वर्णं॑ चरत आमिना॒ने ॥ (२)

सूर्य की माता, तेजस्विनी एवं श्वेतवर्ण वाली उषा आई है. कृष्णवर्णा रात्रि ने उसे अपना स्थान दे दिया है. यद्यपि ये दोनों एक ही सूर्य से संबंधित एवं मरणरहिता हैं, तथापि एक- दूसरी के पीछे आती हैं एवं एक-दूसरे का रूप नष्ट करती हुई आकाश में विचरण करती हैं. (२)

The mother of the sun, Tejaswini and the white-coloured Usha have come. Krishnavarna night has given her her place. Although they are both related to the same sun and are non-moribund, they follow each other and wander in the sky destroying each other's form. (2)
