प॒रा॒य॒ती॒नामन्वे॑ति॒ पाथ॑ आयती॒नां प्र॑थ॒मा शश्व॑तीनाम् । व्यु॒च्छन्ती॑ जी॒वमु॑दी॒रय॑न्त्यु॒षा मृ॒तं कं च॒न बो॒धय॑न्ती ॥ (८)

अतीत उषाओं के मार्ग का अनुवर्तन वर्तमान उषा करती है. यह आने वाली अगणित उषाओं की आदि है. यह अंधकार को मिटाती, प्राणियों को जागृत करती एवं निद्रा में मृतवत्‌ बने लोगों को चेतन बनाती है. (८)

The present Usha follows the path of past ushas. This is the beginning of countless ushas to come. It removes darkness, awakens beings and makes people who are dead in sleep conscious. (8)
