स सं॒स्तिरो॑ वि॒ष्टिरः॒ सं गृ॑भायति जा॒नन्ने॒व जा॑न॒तीर्नित्य॒ आ श॑ये । पुन॑र्वर्धन्ते॒ अपि॑ यन्ति दे॒व्य॑म॒न्यद्वर्पः॑ पि॒त्रोः कृ॑ण्वते॒ सचा॑ ॥ (७)

अग्नि कभी प्रच्छन्न और कभी विस्तृत होकर लकड़ियों में व्याप्त होते हैं. यजमान का अभिप्राय जानने वाले अग्नि अपनी उन ज्वालाओं का आश्रय लेते हैं जो यजमान की इच्छाओं को जानती हैं. ऐसी ज्वालाएं बार-बार बढ़कर दिव्य अग्नि को प्राप्त होती हैं एवं अग्नि के साथ ही धरती और आकाश का रूप तेजोमय बना देती हैं. (७)

Fire is sometimes hidden and sometimes spread out in wood. The fires that know the meaning of the host take refuge in the flames that know the wishes of the host. Such flames increase again and again to attain divine fire and along with the fire, they make the form of the earth and the sky bright. (7)
