निर्यदीं॑ बु॒ध्नान्म॑हि॒षस्य॒ वर्प॑स ईशा॒नासः॒ शव॑सा॒ क्रन्त॑ सू॒रयः॑ । यदी॒मनु॑ प्र॒दिवो॒ मध्व॑ आध॒वे गुहा॒ सन्तं॑ मात॒रिश्वा॑ मथा॒यति॑ ॥ (३)

महान्‌ यज्ञ के आरंभ से सब कार्य सिद्ध करने में समर्थ ऋत्विज्‌ बल से अग्नि को उत्पन्न करते हैं एवं वेदीरूपी गुफा में छिपी हुई अग्नि को फैलाने के लिए चलती हुई वायु अनादि काल से प्रेरित करती है. (३)
