उ॒क्षा म॒हाँ अ॒भि व॑वक्ष एने अ॒जर॑स्तस्थावि॒तऊ॑तिरृ॒ष्वः । उ॒र्व्याः प॒दो नि द॑धाति॒ सानौ॑ रि॒हन्त्यूधो॑ अरु॒षासो॑ अस्य ॥ (२)

फलदाता एवं महान्‌ अग्नि मतवाले बैल के समान धरती और आकाश को व्याप्त करते हैं. ये जरारहित एवं परमपूज्य अग्नि देव हमारी रक्षा करते हुए स्थित हैं. ये विस्तृत पृथ्वी पर पर्वत की चोटी के समान उठी हुई वेदी पर चरण रखते हैं एवं इनकी चमकती हुई लपटें आकाश को चाटती हैं. (२)

The bearer of fruits and those of great agni, like a bull, pervade the earth and the sky. This undecaying and supremely revered agni god is situated to protect us. Agni step on the altar raised like a mountain top on the vast earth and agni's glowing flames touch the sky. (2)
