धीरा॑सः प॒दं क॒वयो॑ नयन्ति॒ नाना॑ हृ॒दा रक्ष॑माणा अजु॒र्यम् । सिषा॑सन्तः॒ पर्य॑पश्यन्त॒ सिन्धु॑मा॒विरे॑भ्यो अभव॒त्सूर्यो॒ नॄन् ॥ (४)

बुद्धिमान्‌ एवं यज्ञविधि को जानने वाले अध्वर्यु इस अजीर्ण अग्नि को वेदिका पर स्थापित करते हैं एवं विविध प्रयत्नों द्वारा इसकी रक्षा करते हैं. जो लोग यज्ञफल पाने की अभिलाषा से फलदाता अग्नि की सेवा करते हैं, उनके समक्ष ये सूर्य रूप में प्रत्यक्ष होते हैं. (४)
