ता ईं॑ वर्धन्ति॒ मह्य॑स्य॒ पौंस्यं॒ नि मा॒तरा॑ नयति॒ रेत॑से भु॒जे । दधा॑ति पु॒त्रोऽव॑रं॒ परं॑ पि॒तुर्नाम॑ तृ॒तीय॒मधि॑ रोच॒ने दि॒वः ॥ (३)

यजमान द्वारा दी गई सोमरस रूपी आहुतियां इंद्र की शक्ति को बढ़ाती हैं, वह सब प्राणियों को पुत्रादि उत्पादन में समर्थ करने एवं रक्षा पाने के उद्देश्य से उसी शक्ति को सबकी माता तुल्य धरती और आकाश में रखते हैं. पुत्र का नाम निम्न, पिता का उच्च और तीसरे नाती का नाम प्रकाशयुक्त आकाश में है. (३)

The somaras-like offerings given by the host enhance the power of Indra, he puts the same power in the earth and sky as everyone's mother in order to enable all beings to produce and protect them in the production of sons. The son's name is low, the father's high and the third grandson's name is in the light sky. (3)
