यद्ध॑वि॒ष्य॑मृतु॒शो दे॑व॒यानं॒ त्रिर्मानु॑षाः॒ पर्यश्वं॒ नय॑न्ति । अत्रा॑ पू॒ष्णः प्र॑थ॒मो भा॒ग ए॑ति य॒ज्ञं दे॒वेभ्यः॑ प्रतिवे॒दय॑न्न॒जः ॥ (४)

जब ऋत्विज्‌ हवि के योग्य एवं देवों के प्राप्त करने के पात्र अश्व को समय-समय पर तीन बार अग्नि के चारों ओर घुमाते हैं, तब पूषा का भागरूप पहला बकरा अपनी 'में, में' से देवयज्ञ का प्रचार करता हुआ जाता है. (४)
