द्वा सु॑प॒र्णा स॒युजा॒ सखा॑या समा॒नं वृ॒क्षं परि॑ षस्वजाते । तयो॑र॒न्यः पिप्प॑लं स्वा॒द्वत्त्यन॑श्नन्न॒न्यो अ॒भि चा॑कशीति ॥ (२०)

जीवात्मा और परमात्मारूपी दो पक्षी मित्र बनकर साथ-साथ संसार रूपी वृक्ष पर रहते हैं. उन में से एक (जीवात्मा) पीपल के स्वादिष्ट फलों को खाता है. दूसरा (परमात्मा) फल न खाता हुआ केवल देखता है. (२०)

Two birds, beings (Jivatma) and supreme being (Parmatma), live together as friends on the tree of the world. One of them (Jivatma) eats the delicious fruits of Peepal. The other (Parmatma) only sees without eating the fruit. (20)
