तस्मि॒न्ना वे॑शया॒ गिरो॒ य एक॑श्चर्षणी॒नाम् । अनु॑ स्व॒धा यमु॒प्यते॒ यवं॒ न चर्कृ॑ष॒द्वृषा॑ ॥ (२)

हे होता! अपनी स्तुतिरूपी वाणी को इंद्र में स्थापित करो. वे ज्ञान वाले मनुष्यों के एकमात्र आश्रय हैं. स्वधा शब्द के बाद उन्हें भी हव्य अन्न दिया जाता है. किसान जिस प्रकार पके जौ को ग्रहण करता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र हमारा हव्य स्वीकार करते हैं. (२)
