अति॑ष्ठन्तीनामनिवेश॒नानां॒ काष्ठा॑नां॒ मध्ये॒ निहि॑तं॒ शरी॑रम् । वृ॒त्रस्य॑ नि॒ण्यं वि च॑र॒न्त्यापो॑ दी॒र्घं तम॒ आश॑य॒दिन्द्र॑शत्रुः ॥ (१०)

एक स्थान पर न रुकने वाले जल में डूबकर वृत्र का शरीर नाममात्र को भी दिखाई नहीं दे रहा है. इंद्र से बैर करने वाला वृत्र चिरनिद्रा में लीन है और जल उसके ऊपर होकर बह रहा है. (१०)
