न ये दि॒वः पृ॑थि॒व्या अन्त॑मा॒पुर्न मा॒याभि॑र्धन॒दां प॒र्यभू॑वन् । युजं॒ वज्रं॑ वृष॒भश्च॑क्र॒ इन्द्रो॒ निर्ज्योति॑षा॒ तम॑सो॒ गा अ॑दुक्षत् ॥ (१०)

जब आकाश से धरती पर जल नहीं बरसा और धन देने वाली भूमि मानवोपकारक फसलों से युक्त नहीं थी, तब वर्षाकारक इंद्र ने अपने हाथ में वज्र उठाया और चमकते हुए वज्र की सहायता से अंधकार फैलाने वाले मेघ से नीचे गिरने वाला जल पूरी तरह दुहा. (१०)
