न्या॑विध्यदिली॒बिश॑स्य दृ॒ळ्हा वि श‍ृ॒ङ्गिण॑मभिन॒च्छुष्ण॒मिन्द्रः॑ । याव॒त्तरो॑ मघव॒न्याव॒दोजो॒ वज्रे॑ण॒ शत्रु॑मवधीः पृत॒न्युम् ॥ (१२)

इंद्र ने धरती पर छिपी हुई वृत्र की सेना को पूरी तरह वेध दिया था एवं संसार को दुःखी करने वाले एवं सींग के समान आयुध वाले वृत्र को अनेक प्रकार से मारा था. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे पास जितना वेग और बल है, उसके द्वारा तुमने युद्धाभिलाषी वृत्र को वञ्र की सहायता से काट डाला. (१२)
