परीं॑ घृ॒णा च॑रति तित्वि॒षे शवो॒ऽपो वृ॒त्वी रज॑सो बु॒ध्नमाश॑यत् । वृ॒त्रस्य॒ यत्प्र॑व॒णे दु॒र्गृभि॑श्वनो निज॒घन्थ॒ हन्वो॑रिन्द्र तन्य॒तुम् ॥ (६)

हे इंद्र! वृत्र नामक असुर जल को रोककर आकाश में सोया था. आकाश में वृत्र के विस्तार की कोई सीमा नहीं थी. तुमने अपने शब्द करते हुए वज्र के द्वारा उसी वृत्र की ठोड़ी को जिस समय घायल किया था, उसी समय तुम्हारा शत्रुविजयी तेज विस्तृत हो गया एवं तुम्हारा बल सर्वत्र प्रकाशित हो गया. (६)

O Indra! The asura named Vritra had slept in the sky withholding the water. There was no limit to the expansion of the circle in the sky. At the time you wounded the chin of the same circle with a thunderbolt while doing your word, at the same time your enemy's enemy's swiftness expanded and your strength was illuminated everywhere. (6)
