वि वात॑जूतो अत॒सेषु॑ तिष्ठते॒ वृथा॑ जु॒हूभिः॒ सृण्या॑ तुवि॒ष्वणिः॑ । तृ॒षु यद॑ग्ने व॒निनो॑ वृषा॒यसे॑ कृ॒ष्णं त॒ एम॒ रुश॑दूर्मे अजर ॥ (४)

वायु द्वारा प्रेरित अग्नि महान्‌ शब्द करते हुए अपनी जलती हुई एवं तीव्र ज्वालाओं के द्वारा अनायास ही पेड़ों को जला देते हैं. हे अग्नि देव! तुम जिस समय वन के वृक्षों को जलाने के लिए सांड़ के समान उतावले होते हो, उस समय तुम्हारे गमन का मार्ग काला पड़ जाता है. हे अग्नि! तुम दीप्त ज्वालाओं वाले एवं जरारहित हो. (४)

The agni induced by the wind burns the trees spontaneously with its burning and intense flames, while using the word great. O God of agni! At the time when you are as hasty as a bull to burn the forest trees, your path of passage becomes black. O agni! You are light-lit and without flames. (4)
