यद्वात॑जूतो॒ वना॒ व्यस्था॑द॒ग्निर्ह॑ दाति॒ रोमा॑ पृथि॒व्याः ॥ (८)

अग्नि बहिन के हितैषी भाई के समान बहने वाले जल के हितैषी हैं. अग्नि शत्रु के विनाशकारी राजा के समान वन का भक्षण करते हैं. वायु द्वारा प्रेरित अग्नि जिस समय वनों को जलाते हैं, उस समय पृथ्वी के रोगों के समान सभी वनस्पतियां समाप्त हो जाती हैं. (८)

Agni is friendly to the flowing water like a well-wishing brother to his sister. Agni devours the forest like the destroyer king of the enemy. When the fire induced by wind burns the forests, at that time all the vegetation ends and the diseases of the earth. (8)
