जने॒ न शेव॑ आ॒हूर्यः॒ सन्मध्ये॒ निष॑त्तो र॒ण्वो दु॑रो॒णे ॥ (४)

मेधावी, दर्परहित एवं कर्त्तव्य-अकर्त्तव्य को जानने वाले अग्नि उसी प्रकार समस्त अन्नों को स्वादिष्ट बना देते हैं, जिस प्रकार गाय का स्तन बनाता है. अग्नि यज्ञ में बुलाए जाने पर लोक सुखकारी पुरुष के समान यज्ञस्थल में आकर बैठते हैं. (४)

Meritorious, fearless and knowing duty and non-duty, Agni makes all the food delicious in the same way as the breast of a cow makes delicious milk. On being called to the yajna, Agni come and sit in the place of sacrifice like a benevolent person. (4)
