इन्द्रो॑ वृ॒त्रस्य॒ तवि॑षीं॒ निर॑ह॒न्सह॑सा॒ सहः॑ । म॒हत्तद॑स्य॒ पौंस्यं॑ वृ॒त्रं ज॑घ॒न्वाँ अ॑सृज॒दर्च॒न्ननु॑ स्व॒राज्य॑म् ॥ (१०)

इंद्र ने वृत्र राक्षस का बल अपने बल से नष्ट किया एवं अभिभव के साधन आयुधों से वृत्र के आयुध समाप्त किए. इंद्र का बल अति प्रौढ़ है, क्योंकि उन्होंने वृत्र को मारकर उसके द्वारा रोका हुआ जल बहाया एवं अपने प्रभुत्व का प्रदर्शन किया. (१०)
