निरि॑न्द्र॒ भूम्या॒ अधि॑ वृ॒त्रं ज॑घन्थ॒ निर्दि॒वः । सृ॒जा म॒रुत्व॑ती॒रव॑ जी॒वध॑न्या इ॒मा अ॒पोऽर्च॒न्ननु॑ स्व॒राज्य॑म् ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! तुमने धरती और आकाश के ऊपर वृत्र का वध किया था तथा अपना प्रभुत्व स्पष्ट करते हुए मरुद्गणों से युक्त एवं जीवों को तृप्त करने वाला जल बरसाया था. (४)

O Indra! You killed the vritra over the earth and the sky, and made clear your dominion, and you poured down water containing deserts and satisfying the living beings. (4)
