शूरा॑ इ॒वेद्युयु॑धयो॒ न जग्म॑यः श्रव॒स्यवो॒ न पृत॑नासु येतिरे । भय॑न्ते॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना म॒रुद्भ्यो॒ राजा॑न इव त्वे॒षसं॑दृशो॒ नरः॑ ॥ (८)

शीघ्र चलने वाले मरुद्गण शूरों, युद्ध चाहने वालों एवं अन्नाभिलाषी पुरुषों के समान युद्धों में प्रयत्नशील हैं. वर्षा आदि के नेताओं एवं उग्ररूप मरुतों से संसार डरता है. (८)
