नि प॒स्त्या॑सु त्रि॒तः स्त॑भू॒यन्परि॑वीतो॒ योनौ॑ सीदद॒न्तः । अतः॑ सं॒गृभ्या॑ वि॒शां दमू॑ना॒ विध॑र्मणाय॒न्त्रैरी॑यते॒ नॄन् ॥ (६)

अग्नि गार्हपत्य आदि तीन स्थानों में विस्तृत, यजमान के गृहों को स्थिर करने के इच्छुक व चारों ओर ज्वालाओं से घिरे हुए यज्ञशाला में स्थित वेदी पर बैठते हैं. अग्नि यहां से प्रजाओं के हव्य लेकर एवं पुरोडाश आदि स्वीकृत करके देवों को देने की इच्छा से यज्ञकर्मो के शत्रुओं का नियंत्रण करते हुए देवों के समीप जाते हैं.
