पू॒र्वा॒प॒रं च॑रतो मा॒ययै॒तौ शिशू॒ क्रीळ॑न्तौ॒ परि॑ यातो अध्व॒रम् । विश्वा॑न्य॒न्यो भुव॑नाभि॒चष्ट॑ ऋ॒तूँर॒न्यो वि॒दध॑ज्जायते॒ पुनः॑ ॥ (१८)

दोनों बालक अर्थात्‌ सूर्य-चंद्र अपनी शक्ति से पूर्व और पश्चिम में घूमते हैं. क्रीड़ा करते हुए यज्ञ में आते हैं. इन में से पहला अर्थात्‌ सूर्य सब लोकों को देखता है तथा दूसरा अर्थात्‌ चंद्र वसंत आदि ऋतुओं का निर्माण करता हुआ बार-बार जन्म लेता है. (१८)

English

Both the children i.e. the sun and the moon rotate in the east and west with their power. Come to the yagna while playing. The first of these i.e. the sun sees all the people and the second i.e. the moon is born again and again, creating spring, etc. (18)
