अ॒ग्निं सु॒म्नाय॑ दधिरे पु॒रो जना॒ वाज॑श्रवसमि॒ह वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषः । य॒तस्रु॑चः सु॒रुचं॑ वि॒श्वदे॑व्यं रु॒द्रं य॒ज्ञानां॒ साध॑दिष्टिम॒पसा॑म् ॥ (५)

कुश बिछाने वाले एवं हाथ में खुच लिए हुए ऋत्विज्‌ सुख पाने के लिए मनुष्यों को अन्न देने वाले, उत्तम दीप्तियुक्त, संपूर्ण देवों के हितकारक, दुःखनाशक एवं यजमानों के यज्ञ पूर्ण करने वाले अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं. (५)

Those who lay kush and hold a scratch in their hands praise the agni that gives food to human beings to find happiness, the best of the bright, the benefactors of all the gods, the destroyers of sorrows and the ones who complete the yagna of the hosts. (5)
