आ न॒स्तुजं॑ र॒यिं भ॒रांशं॒ न प्र॑तिजान॒ते । वृ॒क्षं प॒क्वं फल॑म॒ङ्कीव॑ धूनु॒हीन्द्र॑ स॒म्पार॑णं॒ वसु॑ ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! पिता जिस प्रकार समझदार पुत्र को अपनी संपत्ति का एक भाग दे देता है, उसी प्रकार हमें शत्रुपराभवकारी पुत्र दो. जैसे पके फल तोड़ने के लिए अंकुश पेड़ को कंपा देता है, उसी प्रकार तुम हमें अभिलाषा पूर्ण करने वाला धन दो. (४)

English

O Indra! Just as the Father gives a portion of His possessions to the wise Son, so give us an enemy-deserving son. Just as the ankush trembles the tree to break the ripe fruit, so you give us the money that fulfills the desire. (4)
