कया॒ तच्छृ॑ण्वे॒ शच्या॒ शचि॑ष्ठो॒ यया॑ कृ॒णोति॒ मुहु॒ का चि॑दृ॒ष्वः । पु॒रु दा॒शुषे॒ विच॑यिष्ठो॒ अंहोऽथा॑ दधाति॒ द्रवि॑णं जरि॒त्रे ॥ (९)

अतिशय बुद्धिमान्‌ इंद्र किस प्रजा-शक्ति से युक्त हैं? महान्‌ इंद्र अपने बुद्धिबल से ही बड़े-बड़े कामों को पूरा करते हैं. वे यजमानों के बड़े-बड़े पापों को नष्ट करने के साथ-साथ स्तुतिकर्तताओं को धन देते हैं. (९)
