अह॒न्निन्द्रो॒ अद॑हद॒ग्निरि॑न्दो पु॒रा दस्यू॑न्म॒ध्यंदि॑नाद॒भीके॑ । दु॒र्गे दु॑रो॒णे क्रत्वा॒ न या॒तां पु॒रू स॒हस्रा॒ शर्वा॒ नि ब॑र्हीत् ॥ (३)

हे सोम! युद्ध में तुम्हें पाकर शत्रु शक्तिशाली बने. इंद्र और अग्नि ने दोपहर से पहले ही शत्रुओं को समाप्त कर दिया. जैसे चोर रक्षारहित एवं जनशून्य स्थान से जाने वाले धनी लोगों को मार डालता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र ने हजारों की संख्या वाली सेनाएं समाप्त कर दीं. (३)
