ऊ॒र्ध्व ऊ॒ षु णो॑ अध्वरस्य होत॒रग्ने॒ तिष्ठ॑ दे॒वता॑ता॒ यजी॑यान् । त्वं हि विश्व॑म॒भ्यसि॒ मन्म॒ प्र वे॒धस॑श्चित्तिरसि मनी॒षाम् ॥ (१)

आफ्नवान्‌ एवं अन्य भृगुवंशी ऋषियों ने वनों में दावाग्निरूप से दर्शनीय एवं समस्त प्रजाओं के स्वामी अग्नि को प्रज्वलित किया था. वे ही देवों को बुलाने वाले, अतिशय यज्ञकर्ता, यज्ञों में ऋत्विजों द्वारा स्तुत्य एवं देवों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अग्नि यज्ञकर्तताओं द्वारा स्थापित किए गए हैं. (१)

Afnavan and other Bhriguvanshi sages had ignited the agni, the lord of all the people, to be spectacular in the forests. They are the ones who call the gods, the very sacrificial ones, the ones who are set up by the sages in the yagnas, the ones who are praiseworthy and the best of the agni yajnakartas among the devas.
