स ईं॑ पाहि॒ य ऋ॑जी॒षी तरु॑त्रो॒ यः शिप्र॑वान्वृष॒भो यो म॑ती॒नाम् । यो गो॑त्र॒भिद्व॑ज्र॒भृद्यो ह॑रि॒ष्ठाः स इ॑न्द्र चि॒त्राँ अ॒भि तृ॑न्धि॒ वाजा॑न् ॥ (२)

हे सोमलता का फोक धारण करने वाले इंद्र! तुम शत्रुओं से रक्षा करने वाले, सुंदर ठोड़ी वाले एवं स्तोताओं की इच्छा पूरी करने वाले हो. हे इंद्र! तुम पर्वतों के भेदक, वज्रधारी एवं घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ने वाले हो. तुम अपना विचित्र अन्न हम पर प्रकट करो. (२)
