ति॒ग्मं चि॒देम॒ महि॒ वर्पो॑ अस्य॒ भस॒दश्वो॒ न य॑मसा॒न आ॒सा । वि॒जेह॑मानः पर॒शुर्न जि॒ह्वां द्र॒विर्न द्रा॑वयति॒ दारु॒ धक्ष॑त् ॥ (४)

अग्नि का मार्ग तीक्ष्ण एवं रूप परम दीप्तिशाली है. वे घोड़ों के समान मुख से घास आदि भक्षण करते हैं. वे फरसे के समान काठ पर अपनी जीभ चलाते हैं एवं सोने को गलाते हुए सुनार के समान पिघला देते हैं. (४)
