ऊ॒र्ध्वो अ॒ग्निः सु॑म॒तिं वस्वो॑ अश्रेत्प्रती॒ची जू॒र्णिर्दे॒वता॑तिमेति । भे॒जाते॒ अद्री॑ र॒थ्ये॑व॒ पन्था॑मृ॒तं होता॑ न इषि॒तो य॑जाति ॥ (१)

ऊपर की ओर गति करने वाले अग्नि मुझ स्तोता की शोभनस्तुति को सुनें. सब लोगों को बूढ़ा बनाने वाली एवं पूर्व की ओर मुंह करने वाली उषा यज्ञ में जाती है. श्रद्धायुक्त यजमान एवं उसकी पत्नी रथस्वामियों के समान यज्ञमार्ग पर आते हैं. हमारे द्वारा भेजा हुआ स्तोता यज्ञ करता है. (१)
