इ॒दं वचः॑ शत॒साः संस॑हस्र॒मुद॒ग्नये॑ जनिषीष्ट द्वि॒बर्हाः॑ । शं यत्स्तो॒तृभ्य॑ आ॒पये॒ भवा॑ति द्यु॒मद॑मीव॒चात॑नं रक्षो॒हा ॥ (६)

सौ गायों का विभाग करने वाले, हजार गायों से युक्त एवं विद्या व कर्म के द्वारा महान्‌ वसिष्ठ ने यशस्कर, रोगनिवारक, राक्षसों का नाश करने वाला, स्तोताओं व पुत्रादि को सुख देने वाला यह स्तोत्र अग्नि के प्रति रचा है. (६)

The great Vasishtha, who divides a hundred cows, contains a thousand cows and through knowledge and karma, has created this stotra towards agni, the destroyer of demons, the protector of demons, giving happiness to the psalms and daughters. (6)
