तमिद्विप्रा॑ अव॒स्यवः॑ प्र॒वत्व॑तीभिरू॒तिभिः॑ । इन्द्रं॑ क्षो॒णीर॑वर्धयन्व॒या इ॑व ॥ (१७)

बुद्धिमान्‌ एवं रक्षा चाहने वाले स्तोता इंद्र को तृप्त करने वाली स्तुतियों द्वारा बढ़ाते हैं. सब लोक वृक्ष की शाखाओं के समान इंद्र के अधीन होकर उन्हें बढ़ाते है. (१७)

English

The wise and the protector-seeking hymns enhance Indra with satiating hymns. All the people submit to Indra like the branches of the tree and raise them. (17)
