बट् सू॑र्य॒ श्रव॑सा म॒हाँ अ॑सि स॒त्रा दे॑व म॒हाँ अ॑सि । म॒ह्ना दे॒वाना॑मसु॒र्यः॑ पु॒रोहि॑तो वि॒भु ज्योति॒रदा॑भ्यम् ॥ (१२)

हे सूर्य! यह सत्य है कि तुम यश के कारण महान्‌ हो. हे दीप्तिशाली सूर्य! यह सत्य है कि तुम महत्त्व वाले देवों में महान्‌, असुरों के हंता व देवों को हित का उपदेश देने वाले हो. तुम्हारा तेज महान्‌ और किसी से हिंसित होने वाला नहीं है. (१२)

O sun! It is true that you are great because of fame. O glorious sun! It is true that you are the great of the important gods, the saints of the asuras and the ones who preach the benefit of the gods. Your speed is great and not going to be jealous of anyone. (12)
