मा॒ता रु॒द्राणां॑ दुहि॒ता वसू॑नां॒ स्वसा॑दि॒त्याना॑म॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभिः॑ । प्र नु वो॑चं चिकि॒तुषे॒ जना॑य॒ मा गामना॑गा॒मदि॑तिं वधिष्ट ॥ (१५)

हे मनुष्यो! जो गाय रुद्रों की माता, वसुओं की पुत्री आदित्यों की बहिन, दूध का निवासस्थान, अपराधरहित एवं हीनताहीन है, उस गाय का वध मत करो. यह बात मैंने बुद्धिमान्‌ लोगों से कही थी. (१५)

English

O men! Do not kill that cow, which is the mother of Rudras, the daughter of Vasus, the sister of Adityas, the abode of milk, and is guiltless and free from defects. This I have told to wise people. (15)
