सत्यरूप यज्ञ की जिह्वा के समान सोम प्यारा एवं मादक रस टपकाते हैं. सोम शब्द करने वाले, इस यज्ञकर्म के पालक एवं राक्षसों द्वारा अपराजेय हैं. द्युलोक को दीप्त करने वाला सोम जब निचोड़ा जाता है, तब यजमान ऐसा नाम धारण करता है जिसे उसके माता- पिता भी नहीं जानते. (२)
