सम॑स्य॒ हरिं॒ हर॑यो मृजन्त्यश्वह॒यैरनि॑शितं॒ नमो॑भिः । आ ति॑ष्ठति॒ रथ॒मिन्द्र॑स्य॒ सखा॑ वि॒द्वाँ ए॑ना सुम॒तिं या॒त्यच्छ॑ ॥ (२)

उंगलियां हरे रंग वाले सोम का रस निचोड़ती हैं. सोम अपनी व्याप्त एवं नमित बनाने वाली किरणों के साथ दशापवित्र रूप असंस्कृत रथ में बैठते हैं. इसके बाद इंद्र के मित्र एवं विद्वान्‌ सोम दशापवित्र से चलकर उत्तम स्तुतियों वाले स्तोता के पास पहुंचते हैं. (२)
