इन्धे राजा समर्यो नमोभिर्यस्य प्रतीकमाहुतं घृतेन । नरो हव्येभिरीडते सबाध आग्निरग्रमुषसामशोचि ॥ (८)

हे अग्नि! आप श्रेष्ठ हैं. आप राजा हैं. आप को अन्नों से प्रज्वलित किया जाता है. आप को घी से बढ़ाया जाता है. सभी मिल कर हवन से आप की पूजा करते हैं. इस प्रकार अग्नि उषा काल के पूर्व (यानी माता के गर्भ से ही) उत्पन्न हुए हैं. (८)

O agni! You are the best. You are the king. You are ignited with grains. You are enhanced with ghee. Everyone worships you together with havan. In this way, agni has originated before the Usha period (i.e. from the mother's womb). (8)
